Why does God allow?
Many people do not understand how it is possible that we have a powerful, loving, good God, but there is still so much suffering, war, injustice, disease, and cruelty in the world.
The Bible explains that although God is omnipotent, He gave us the gift of life. -> Therefore, our life is ours - and the responsibility that comes with it. We make the decisions in our lives, and God has given us the freedom to make good or bad decisions. These decisions also affect others. God does not arbitrarily take back the gift of life and free will. If he did, we would not be free, but just robots, and there would be no love, because loving can only be done with free will. Well, let's look at the details...
IN THE BEGINNING…
From Genesis 1, 26-28, we learn that after God created man, we were given power to HAVE DOMINION over the animals, over the entire earth, over everything He created (apart from other people). But Adam and Eve did not trust God wholeheartedly, so they ate from the tree of knowledge.
Tree of Knowledge? What does it mean? God explained it to them! In the original Hebrew language, the word knowledge (daath) means experience: That whoever eats from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil will not only experience good, but also sickness, pain, and evil. Man chose this because he believed the lie of the evil one, and this decision had an effect on Adam and Eve's children, and on us as well.
ADAM AND EVE
So Adam and Eve lost a lot when they fell. They were cut off from a close relationship with God. A part of their heart, their spirit, the part with which they could talk directly with God, died. The consequence of sin was physical death and the appearance of disease on Earth. Not only did they rule the Earth, but also the devil gained domonion, through sins, bad intentions, bad thoughts, and diseases. This means that God is currently not ruling the earth in the sense that everything will happen as He wants. 1 John 5:19 states that this world is under the power of the devil.
GOD'S HELP
How did God help us in this difficult situation? He did not want people to live separated from Him, suffering because of sin.
He sent His son, Jesus Christ, to carry away and wash away sin, fear, and disease through His shed blood, wounds, and sufferings. When Jesus died, sin, our old, godless nature, all diseases, deficiencies and the devil were disarmed.
All this is spiritual reality, truth already now. But in order to experience this in our bodies, in our lives, we need the Helper, the Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of power and holiness, through whom Jesus also healed people on Earth. He is teaching us to use this power.
After Jesus was resurrected, God placed His Holy Spirit in the hearts of believers and gave us power to rule over demons and diseases. So God rules the Earth through us today. So when something bad happens, don't blame Him, but defeat the devil with the help of the Holy Spirit, through the Word!
Luke 10, 19. "Behold, I give you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you."
VICTORY
He gave us victory.
2 Cor 1, 14 "God ALWAYS leads us to victory in Christ."
So yes, we can turn to Him in all our needs. Our victory is certain. But there is victory only where there is difficulty and battle.
John 16, 33 "(Jesus: ) In the world you will have trials, tribulations and disappointments, but have faith, because I have overcome the world."
DOMINION
How can we experience health and God's goodness in our lives? Through faith, we can use the power of Holy Spirit when difficulties and illnesses attack us.
The Bible is God's letter to us and contains His promises to us. As we think about these and say them out as a commandment to happen in the world, in our bodies, in our lives, changes begin and take place.
God's Holy Spirit encourages, strengthens and guides us while we are talking to Him about the things of our lives.
(Note: The Bible uses the word daah (knows, experiences), for example, when it describes sexual intercourse, which is clearly experiential knowledge.)
