WHO IS SHE?

Nerida Walker lives in Australia with her husband, Shaun and is the mother of four children. She ministers as the Senior Pastor alongside her husband, Shaun, at River Christian Church.

MINISTRY

It is the desire of her heart to see how the believers experience the fullness of the gospel, that all areas of their lives flourish, and that they cross the borderline from barrenness (fruitlessness, lack of fulfillment) to fruitfulness, development, and abundance. That they come out of illness into health, and out of lack into the abundance provided by God.

During her ministry, Nerida witnessed how many people came to know Jesus as their Savior. Others, after abandoning their faith, turned back to God again, finding Him with the fire of first love. God's power healed many people during her ministry and all areas of people's lives underwent a transformation.

THE  TESTIMONY

She is the mother of four, who were conceived after her husband was diagnosed by doctors as sterile.

Exodus 23, 26. "You shall not miscarry, nor shall anything be barren in your land..."

THE BAD NEWS

For Nerida and her husband, these were not just words, the Word became a living reality for them. It meant the birth of their children: Kaitlin, Aidan, Aaron and Jesse. The power of God created what people thought was impossible. Doctors determined that Shaun had no fertile sperm at all. Clinics recommended that embryos from another couple be implanted in Nerida's womb or that children be adopted. However, Shaun immediately rejected this diagnosis, knowing in his heart that God had called him to raise children from his own body. "Who said it's impossible? Everything is possible with God!" When Nerida heard the bad news, she was completely broken and only the sad words echoed in her heart. Not only Shaun needed healing, but Nerida's heart as well.

THE CHANGE

Before that, Nerida had experienced healing several times when she prayed against a coldm sore throats. Yet, at first, it was incomprehensible to her how the miracle they needed could come about. And the reason for this was that she did not know the biblical passages in which it is written that God had already taken care of this matter. That's when she came across the above verse (Exodus 23, 26). Through this Word, God radically reshaped her thinking, filled her heart and body with life. Because she knew: the will of the Heavenly Father is that everyone who turns to Him should be the happy mother/father of their biological children.

DECISION FOR FAITH

The Word of God has shown that it is not impossible for God to do a miracle in this situation, either. In fact, a situation labeled as impossible is merely an opportunity for God's power to manifest itself! She soon learned how to believe in the truth of God's Word, despite what the doctors said or the circumstances showed. The Word of God took root in her heart like a seed in the ground. From then on, it was only up to her to rise above the visible, biological facts in faith and by grace, and to nurture, water the seed (the Word) and weed out the weeds of fears and worries. Shaun and Nerida were united in their belief that the power of God would bring life to a place that biological conditions had declared dead.

When the doctors recommended further tests to find out what might have caused Shaun's sterility, they prayed that God would give them wisdom. In the end, they decided to trust God and His Word alone. They thanked God for having healed Shaun's body and thanked for their children in advance.

VICTORY

At first it seemed that conditions were unchanged. They supported each other in prayer and believed that God's Word is reality and truth. They spoke only the truth: they spoke words of faith and victory, and not in the spirit of defeat. And within six months, Nerida conceived! When Shaun told the news to the doctor, he couldn't believe it. He called him into the office and told him confidentially that Nerida was carrying a child that isn't his. Well, he was wrong. Nothing is impossible with God.

However, Nerida and Shaun's story, hardships and triumphs did not end then. There was also the risk of miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy and the possibility that one of the children might be born with Down syndrome. However, they believed in God's Word, which overcame biological conditions. Finally, within four and a half years, Nerida gave birth to 4 healthy children. During the pregnancy, the mother was healthy, she had no serious pain during childbirth.

Isaiah 53, 5. But He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
