Comfort in Mourning

2025.12.03
Greetings Mommy and Daddy, who is comforted by the Almighty. 🤍💚

God is the comforter of the mourners. 🪷 We who would like to be strengthened by the joy of the Lord and lost a baby, embryos or a loved one, need it especially.

We know that Jesus is the Good Shepherd,

🏵️the Healer,

🌸 Wisdom,

🌳the Creator,

đź«… Resurrection and Life,

👣the Way, the Truth,

 đź’šPeace,

♥️Love...
But now that my grandmother has gone to heaven,🪷 I need the Comforter. And His comfort is as abundant as His Love. 🔥

We know that one of the meanings of the name of the Holy Spirit is "Comforter". John 14:16-18.

An important part of Jesus' missionary statement is to comfort the mourners. Isaiah 61:2-3. Matthew 5:4

The best comfort is always to believe that the deceased is in heaven. In heaven there is no pain, no anger, no sickness, no complaints of old age. It is good in times of grief not only to know the truth, but also to imagine that the loved one is there, reigning in the joy of heaven.

DEEP GRIEF

Especially those go through a deep sorrow who did not visit the deceased often enough or did not have a good enough relationship with him/her. We must learn from this, but we can't bring him/her back to life by tormenting ourselves with remorse. We must forgive ourselves and move on, because we have a task among those who are still living. If we fall apart in desperation who will take care of our family?

DAVID AND MOURNING

David also (rightly) blamed himself when his first child from Bathsheba died. But the time for consolation suddenly came. He let go of the baby by faith, not out of heartlessness. Of course, this shocked the people.

đź“•2 Samuel 12:22-23 NIV "He replied, "While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept, for I said, 'Who knows? Perhaps the Lord will be gracious to me and the child will live.' But now that he is dead, why should I fast? Can I bring him back? I will go to him, but he will not return to me."

Jesus said that we should let the spirituality dead bury the dead. Matthew 8:22. He did not say it out of heartlessness. And of course there is a time for mourning and for consolation (Ecclesiastes 3:4), but we should pay attention primarily to the living and to following Christ.

It is important to allowe ourselves to be comforted, because the joy of the Lord is our strength. Nehemiah 8:10. We know that we have hope. Let not death stop the flow of our lives and our ministry to the living.

David’s second mourning is also instructive. When David mourned his son Absalom so much that he turned away from the living, he was rightly rebuked, since Absalom had fought against the life of David’s kingdom and family. Although this case is exceptional, it is still true that death should not overshadow everything. We can still rejoice in the living and in the fact that we knew the beloved person who had passed to be with the Lord. (I always say that if I were to die before the rapture comes, I wouldn't want a sad funeral. Celebrate my life and spread the gospel! 🎉🎉💥)

As for David, God really comforted him. Immediately after the loss of the child, Solomon was conceived. After Absalom’s death, his kingdom was strengthened.

HOW DOES GOD COMFORT US?

Isaiah 51:3 contains a powerful promise.

 TPT
"Indeed, Yahweh will comfort Zion, restore her, and comfort all her broken places. He will transform her wilderness into the garden of Bliss, her desert into the garden of Yahweh. Joy and laughter will fill the air with thanksgiving and joyous melodies."

So God promised to build up those who mourn and make our lives as rich as the garden of Eden.

đź“•Isaiah 40:2 also speaks of comfort, declaring that war is over, sins are forgiven, and the price has been paid for them. According to the TPT translation, God decreed twice as many blessings for the mourners as the sins they committed. (The TPT translation interprets this verse this way, faithful to the original.)

Isaiah 40:2 TPT
"Speak tenderly from the heart to revive those in Jerusalem, and proclaim that their warfare is over. Her debt of sin is paid for, and she will not be treated as guilty. Prophesy to her that she has received from the hand of Yahweh TWICE AS MANY BLESSINGS as all her sins.”

🙌I bless you to give place to the comfort of Christ, so that He can build up your lives in a way you never thought possible. In this way, you will be able to comfort many and experience abundant life in your womb, amen. 2 Corinthians 1:4.
